Students in South Africa Protest Over NSFAS Allowances

Several students from the South West TVET College’s Roodepoort campus thronged into the streets on Monday to protest unpaid NFSAS allowances.

They are asking for unpaid allowances, which they said has affected their finances and getting them evicted from their hostels.

The distraught students say they will boycott Wednesday examinations and also ensure teachers have no access to the school premises until government responds to their demands.

Last week, the EFF Student Command at University of Limpopo backed evicted students unable to pay rents due to delays from NSFAS.
They claimed to be over 8000 students had not been paid.
