During a heavy downpour in Ekosodin community in Benin (UNIBEN), Edo State, a storey building collapsed, trapping some students inside.
Ekosodin, a community near the University of Benin, has a large student population, and the collapsed building was located on Ekhator Street.
Following the collapse, several individuals sustained injuries, and emergency responders began searching for the trapped students.
Some of the students were rescued, while efforts continued to locate others still trapped under the rubble.
At the time of reporting, the university’s authorities had not yet released an official statement about the incident.
