    The Super Eagles of Nigeria attribute their success in the recent 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) to team solidarity and unwavering support from Nigerians.

    Expressing their appreciation for the overwhelming support received, the players emphasise the importance of constructive criticism from fans and urge consideration for the players’ mental well-being.

    Captain Ahmed Musa acknowledges the disappointment of not securing the AFCON victory but emphasises the team’s focus on preparations for upcoming challenges, including the World Cup qualifiers.

    Super Eagles Acknowledge Solidarity and Nigerian Support for AFCON

    Amid cyberbullying directed at midfielder Alex Iwobi, both Musa and African Footballer of the Year Victor Osimhen condemn the actions, emphasising the need to protect players’ mental health and unity within the team.

    Looking ahead to the FIFA World Cup qualifiers, Osimhen expresses confidence in the Super Eagles’ readiness, emphasising the collective goal of securing a World Cup ticket.

    Head coach José Peseiro appreciates the national honour bestowed upon the team and acknowledges the challenging weather conditions that influenced their performance in the AFCON final.

    The President of the Nigeria Football Federation, Ibrahim Gusau, assures support for the team and pledges to organise high-quality matches in preparation for the upcoming qualifiers. He expresses gratitude for the warm reception from the President and emphasises the nation’s commitment to football success
