Super Eagles Captain, Ahmed Musa Clears Air on Retirement

Super Eagles captain, Ahmed Musa has debunked claims that he has stepped aside from international duty.
Musa was absent throughout Nigeria’s seven matches at the 2024 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON), where the Super Eagles finished as runners-up.

Ahmed Musa’s last game as Super Eagles captain was in 2021 during a World Cup qualifier against Cape Verde. He played for 67 minutes, leading his team to a 2-0 victory.

He was last spotted at a seven-minute cameo in a friendly game against Guinea in January.
He has not registered with any club since his contract with Turkish side Sivasspor ended in February.

Refuting claims that he had retired, Musa was quoted as saying, “I only took a little break from the national team. But I didn’t exit the team.”
