Super Eagles captain, Ahmed Musa has rejoined his former team, Kano Pillars till the end of the season.
Musa, who represented the Sai Masugida for one season in the 2009/10 season, also won the NPFL top scorer in the same season with 18 goals. He broke Ishaya Jatau’s decades-long 17-goal record during the campaign.
Unattached since he left Saudi Arabian club, Al Nassr last year, a proposed move to Premier League side, West Bromwich Albion fell through at the death.
Musa’s move to Kano Pillars was confirmed in a statement on the club’s website on Tuesday after weeks of protracted talks.
The statement revealed that the player will be released whenever he gets a better offer as he was signed in the Elite Player category, with the understanding of the League Management Company (LMC).
Musa, capped 96 times by the Super Eagles is looking to make it to the 2022 African Cup of Nations and next year’s FIFA World Cup.
He is Nigeria’s top scorer in the history of the World Cup with four goals, and was also a former U-20 international for the country in 2011.
The former VVV Venlo attacker had an unsuccessful stint with Leicester City amid successful spells at Russian giants, CSKA Moscow where he played in the UEFA Champions League.
