The Super Eagles of Nigeria dropped two spots from 28th to 30th in FIFA’s latest rankings released on Thursday, April 4, 2024.

The Super Eagles’ drop in the Federation of International Football Association’s rankings is attributed to their recent performance in international friendlies against Ghana and Mali.

Despite this slip, the Super Eagles remain the third-best team in Africa.

The team secured a 2-1 victory against Ghana but suffered a 2-0 defeat to Mali under interim coach Finidi George during last month’s fixtures.

Nigeria reached its highest FIFA ranking since May 2013 after a successful AFCON outing in February 2024 where they finished the tournament at first place in a heated finals with Ivory Coast.

Morocco and Senegal lead the continent’s rankings followed by Egypt and Cote d’Ivoire.

Argentina, France, and Belgium hold the top three spots globally.

Here is a list of the Top 10 African Teams, according to FIFA’s latest update.

Morocco – 13

Senegal – 17

Nigeria – 30

Egypt – 37

Ivory Coast – 38

Tunisia – 41

Algeria – 43

Mali – 44

Cameroon – 51

South Africa – 59
