The Kaduna State Police Command reported on Saturday the arrest of many high-profile individuals, including kidnappers, cattle rustlers, and vandals, across the state.

In a statement to journalists, the command’s Public Relations Officer, Mansir Hassan, said that Operation Fushin Kada operatives detained six alleged kidnappers, one livestock rustler, and five vandals, as well as retrieving guns and charms.

On November 12, 2024, officers apprehended four members of a prominent abduction ring operating in Rahama Village, Dutsen Wai, and the surrounding districts. Yahaya Abdullahi, Shamsu Ibrahim, Linus Obasi, and Hauwa Mohammed were charged with abducting a woman from Rahama Village. She was held captive for four days before a ransom of ₦3 million was paid.

In another operation on November 6, 2024, the squad apprehended two more members of a kidnapping syndicate in Ikara Local Government. Surajo Hassan and Abdulhadir Usman admitted to many armed robberies and kidnappings, including one where a victim was detained for 60 days and released after paying a ransom of ₦8 million.

On November 13, 2024, Operation Fushin Kada officers caught Audu Abdullahi, a 27-year-old cattle rustler from Kujama, Kaduna. During interrogation, he admitted to being a member of a group that routinely conducted operations with AK-47 rifles and other deadly weapons. A search resulted in the discovery of a locally manufactured handgun and charms used by the group.

The operatives also responded to a distress call from the Kaduna State Vigilance Service reporting suspicious activity within the Kaduna State Trade Fair premises. They detained three suspects—Salisu Mohammed, Mohammed Abubakar, and Aliyu Isah—for vandalising armoured cable cables at the location. All three accused, inhabitants of Hayin Na’iya in Kaduna Metropolis, admitted to being members of a cable stealing syndicate.

The accused also revealed their criminal receivers, Abubakar Garba and Isiaku Abdullahi. Investigators extended the operation to include Malalin Gabas and Rigasa, who were apprehended and acknowledged to receiving stolen goods.

Kaduna State Commissioner of Police Ibrahim Abdullahi commended the officers for their dedication and assured the public of the command’s continued commitment to safeguarding infrastructure and ensuring security across the state.
