Reports indicate that the suspected killer of Bamise Ayanwola is expected to appear in court today.
Bamise was allegedly killed on February 26 after she entered a BRT Bus in Lagos, Nigeria, an incident which triggered reactions across Nigeria.
Whilst commuting in the bus, it was said that she spoke to a friend, disclosing that she felt unsafe, according to her sister.
Police discovered her body along a bridge on Lagos Island about a week later.
Conspiracy, murder, and two counts of rape are among the charges leveled against the suspect.
After the outrage over the case, the Lagos state Governor assured residents justice would be served.
“The management of Lagos Bus Service Ltd, has been directed to cooperate fully with security agencies in their investigations so that the full weight of the law is brought down on everyone involved in this ugly incident,” Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu said.
