One man in South Africa has dedicated his life to conservation. Nunu Jobe grew up in KwaZulu-Natal province and now spends most days tracking southern white rhino on foot while educating communities and schools on the importance of wildlife. 



In Kenya, as across Africa, populations of the world’s tallest mammals are quietly, yet sharply, in decline. Giraffe numbers across the continent fell 40 percent between 1985 and 2015, to just under 100,000 animals, according to the best figures available to the International Union for Conservation of Nature.

Just 100 kilometres from downtown Lagos, Omo Forest is home to an estimated 100 forest elephants, shy relatives of their larger savannah cousins. But the survival of this rare species is hanging in the balance, threatened by rampant deforestation in their natural habitat.
