Tanzania National Football Team coach Kim Poulsen has named his squad for the 2023 CHAN qualifiers against Uganda. The two countries will compete for a place in the finals, with Tanzania hosting the first leg on August 28 and Uganda hosting the return leg early next month at St. Mary’s stadium in Kitende.
The team, which begins training on Monday, August 21, is led by experienced Simba and Young Africans players such as Aishi Manula, Jonas Mkude, Salum Abubaker ‘Sure Boy,’ Feisal Salum, and right back Shomari Kapombe.
Both nations will meet in the CHAN qualifiers for the third time, with each winning once. Tanzania defeated Uganda 3-1 in the 2009 qualifiers, and the Cranes retaliated by defeating Taifa Stars 4-1 in the 2014 edition. Uganda has competed in every edition of the competition except the first, in 2009.
