President Samia Suluhu Hassan arrived Jakarta today to begin a state visit to Indonesia. The Southeast Asian state has maintained strong ties with Tanzania especially in the energy, agriculture and blue economy sectors.
Last year, both countries signed seven Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) focused on energy, fisheries, livestock, agriculture, defence, health and tourism.
Both nations have agreed to establish a Joint Permanent Commission to ease ongoing communication and cooperation across various sectors. The Tanzanian leader is expected to depart Indonesia on January 26, 2024.
