Tanzanian President Suluhu Reshuffles Cabinet (News Central TV)

Tanzanian President Samia Suluhu has announced a cabinet reshuffle as she battled to put a lid on infighting in the country’s ruling party ahead of the 2025 general elections.

Chief Secretary, Ambassador Hussein Kattanga announced the changes and termed them as “structural changes.”

Suluhu relieved the following of their responsibilities: Minister of Lands, Housing and Human Settlements William Lukuvi, Minister of Industry and Trade Kitila Mkumbo, Minister of Investment Geoffrey Mwambe, and the Minister of Constitution and Legal Affairs Professor Palamagamba Kabudi.

The new cabinet has drafted in Nape Nauye as the Minister of Sports, Culture and Arts, Adolf Mkenda as the Minister of Education, Science and Technology and Hussein Bashe as the Minister of Agriculture.

The latest reshuffle is President Suluhu’s second in one year, as changes were also made in March 2021.
