Celebrated singer-songwriter Tems leads the Nigerian nominees at the 2025 Grammy Awards with three nominations. Known by her full name, Temilade Openiyi, she is nominated for Best Global Music Album for her debut Born in the Wild, Best Global Music Performance for her hit Love Me Jeje, and Best African Music Performance.

Burna Boy, famously dubbed the “African Giant,” won his first Grammy in 2021 for Twice as Tall and has consistently earned nominations, reinforcing his international acclaim. Wizkid, affectionately called “Starboy” by his fans, claimed a Grammy in 2021 for Best Music Video for *Brown Skin Girl*, his collaboration with Beyoncé.

Davido has also received three Grammy nominations this year, including Best Global Music Album for Timeless, Best African Music Performance for Unavailable featuring Musa Keys, and Best Global Music Performance for Feel.

Other distinguished Nigerian Grammy winners include Sikiru Adepoju, who took home the award in 2009 for his work on Global Drum Project, and King Sunny Adé, first nominated in 1983. Femi Kuti, son of Afrobeat pioneer Fela Kuti, has also received multiple Grammy nominations, underscoring the genre’s lasting influence.

Beyond Grammy recognition, Nigerian artists have achieved success at other major international awards.
