Nigerian singing sensation Temilade Openiyi, widely known as Tems, recently captivated the audience of The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon with two tracks from her upcoming album, ‘Born In the Wild’, ahead of its debut release.
She delivered a seamless rendition of her latest single, ‘Love Me Jeje’, which features a sample from the timeless classic of the same title by Seyi Sodimu and Shaffy Bello. This marks Tems’ second appearance on the show, following her performance alongside Wizkid in 2021.
Tems recently announced the release of her album, slated for June 2024. In an interview, she revealed that the album is influenced by her journey of learning, unlearning, and relearning, shaping her into the person she is today.
The eagerly awaited album has been preceded by the release of three singles: ‘Me & U’, which earned her a 2024 BET nomination for Best Video Director and Best Gospel/Inspirational Song, ‘I’m Not An Angel’, and most recently, ‘Love Me Jeje’, which has amassed over 17 million Spotify streams in under a month.
