Ten Hag to Remain as Manchester United Manager After Review

Following a post-season review, Manchester United’s Board have decided to retain Erik Ten Hag as manager for the upcoming season.

It is believed they are now in talks with the Dutchman about extending his contract, which is about to enter its final season.

Ten Hag went into the final game of the season against Manchester City in the FA Cup final at Wembley with rife speculations that he would be fired regardless of the match’s outcome.

However, United’s deserved 2-1 victory and especially a much-improved performance on the day must have turned the club’s hierarchy to approach the review in a more positive light.

Thomas Tuchel was thought to be in the mix after speaking to co-owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe last week but the German ruled himself out of the running. At the same time, the club’s interest in Mauricio Pochettino thawed even though he was odds-on to take the job

The Dutchman took charge at Old Trafford in the summer of 2022, after a successful spell at Ajax. He is United’s fifth permanent manager since Sir Alex Ferguson’s retirement in 2013, following David Moyes, Louis van Gaal, Jose Mourinho and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
