Nigerian hit musician Teniola Akpata popularly known as Teni the entertainer is fighting back at critics over her recent post. The 30 year old star has explained the reason behind her dramatic weight loss, tearing off 75 pounds without surgery and some critics are not in support.
In a video showing her weight loss journey and wishing fans a happy new year, the ‘Case’ crooner said she feared for her health “i realised you only have one life. Me, I don’t want to die. If you need inspiration, look at me” she said.
One actress, Monalisa Stephen took to fire at Teni saying “Its not in your place to tell people what to do with their bodies Lose weight if its affecting you but don’t assume I am unhealthy because I am fat. Fat is not the problem. Fat Stigma is”
While Teni’s response brutally expresses her decision not to back and forth with the actress. Monalisa added to her earlier comment, “For all y’all celeb who we supported because you’re fat and flourishing. But after you gain the fanbase and lose weight which is not the problem. Lose weight in peace Dont be fat phobic now and say “I remember when I was fat. Fat na bad thing. But you gain sympathy and support from the fat community to get there. Be nice . Fat no be disease Shut up already and lose your weight in peace” she continued.
There’s never been any previous public altercation between the two, and most fans of both stars were surprised by the intensity of the comments, this early in the new year.
