Abdulkarimu Faca-Faca, the head of a terrorist gang operating in Zamfara, was assassinated by the Nigerian Air Force on Sunday morning during an air attack.

Eight top commanders and Faca-Faca’s wives were also killed during the offensive onslaught.

Abdulkarim Faca Faca was one of the most brutal terrorists who carried out attacks in the Zamfara state neighborhoods of Safana, Batsari, and Danmusa.

Around 3am in the morning on Sunday, an airstrike was carried out against Marina, the terrorist’s ancestral home in Safana Local Government, Katsina State.

According to a source at the Forward Operation Base (FOB) in Katsina, the air raid was carried out after officials received a report from the intelligence community concerning Faca-Faca’s whereabouts.

The state’s police spokeswoman, Gambo Isah, acknowledged that the gang leader’s residence had been bombed.

“Eight suspected terrorists including their leader Abdulkarim Faca-Faca were killed in yesterday’s NAF raids and this morning in the same area for mop-up operation, terrorists fled but all their rustled cows perished as many escaped with bullets wounds. Verify please,” Isah said.

AbdulJalal Runka, the Safana representative in the Katsina House of Assembly, also verified the air raid.

There were several air raids in the area, according to numerous reports. According to them, several locals have had to leave their houses in search of safety as a result of the raids.

Faca-Faca was reportedly one of the extremely visible assailants in the region, according to a source at the Forward Operation Base who spoke to newsmen.

“He was of interest to us because of his notoriety. You know some of them only engage in cattle rustling or kidnapping but he did every crime. He was into cattle rustling, kidnapping, armed robbery and ruthless attacks,” said the source who asked not to be named as he has no permission to speak to journalists.

He claimed that Faca-Faca was known for killing other bandits who agreed to negotiate with the state administration by frightening them, which caused some of them to back out of agreements.
