Terrorists Kidnap 20 Along Abuja-Kaduna Road

Barely 24 hours after the Federal Government announced the reopening of the Abuja-Kaduna train services, terrorists have blocked the dreaded Abuja-Kaduna highway abducting over 20 travelers.

Reports on Tuesday night indicated that the marauding miscreants descended on the Kaduna axis of the highway where they shot sporadically and moved the commuters into the bush.

The train services was derailed by notorious bandits groups, killing scores, and kidnapping several persons in March 2022.

On Monday, Nigerian Railway Corporation (NRC), announced that the Federal Government of Nigeria has ordered that the resumption of train service along the attacked Abuja-Kaduna rail network starting Monday 23rd of May, 2022.

According to the NRC, the government has put additional security measures in place along the Abuja-Kaduna railway and environment to ensure adequate safety for passengers plying the route.

Bandits however took the highway by surprise on Tuesday, kidnapping over 20 passengers in fresh attack on the Kaduna-Abuja route.

The attack reportedly happened around 4:30 pm on Tuesday, leaving many wounded, including women and children.

In a related incident, 4 persons – a nursing mother, her daughter (Hanifa) and two neighbours have been kidnapped in the wee hours of Tuesday, around Nariya community in Kabala, Igabi local government area of Kaduna state.
