American actor Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson says he feels grateful after an aeroplane he was travelling in recently had to make an emergency landing.
In a video that was uploaded to his X page, the professional wrestler recounted the experience, stating that the pilot had told him they had to return to Hawaii, from where they had only departed 35–40 minutes earlier when he was travelling to Houston for the United Football League (UFL) season opener.
“The pilot comes back to me; he gets down on one knee and he faces me face-to-face—and it’s just me on the plane, me and the crew—and he says, ‘Mr. Johnson, I’m sorry to inform you, but we cannot continue to fly over the ocean. We have a problem,'” Johnson recalled.

The “Jumanji” star said that the pilot had promised to get him “back safely on the island” and that the mishap was due to a “hydraulics issue.”
At one point, Johnson caught himself thinking, “Is this it? Is this how I check out?”
The actor claimed that the incident gave him a flash of insight when he was enjoying a drink as the aeroplane returned to the runway.
“You quickly realise that the s— that’s important in life, and then you realise that the s— that doesn’t matter,” Johnson added. “I had one of those times.”
Johnson was travelling to Houston to assist in kicking off the second season of the UFL. The game, which was sparsely attended, saw the St. Louis Battlehawks defeat the Houston Roughnecks on Friday.
The actor declared in 2023 that he was merging his football minor league, the XFL, with Fox’s USFL to become the currently existing UFL.
