The Ogun State police command has revealed that three Indian nationals were among the victims kidnapped along Sagamu, Ijebu Ode expressway.
Travellers were kidnapped by gunmen along Sagamu Area Command of the Nigeria Police and Ilisan township on Sunday.
Information gathered was that the kidnappers trailed an unknown driver in a grey Toyota Rav 4, AGL16JE, in Lagos to a bad part of the road and abducted the travellers, who were then taken in an unregistered Venza jeep.
One of the victims survived after being shot in the knee and is currently hospitalised.
Reports say the driver of a black Toyota Camry car with number plate Lagos AAA-04-JB was shot in his left leg as he tried to make a U-turn.
The windscreen of another bus driver heading to Lagos from Abuja was shattered and his cell phone was taken despite not being the target.
On Tuesday, PPRO Omolola Odutola disclosed that three Indian nationals were among the kidnapped victims.
She said, “Investigations by the anti-kidnapping Unit of Ogun State Police Command further reveals that three Indian nationals were the victims of a kidnap incident that occurred at Delabo Junction.”
