Three adult males sustained varying degrees of injuries following the collapse of a one-storey building under construction in the Mushin area of Lagos State.

The incident occurred Sunday afternoon at 96 Ishaga Road, opposite the Idi Araba Central Mosque.

According to a statement issued by Margaret Adeseye, Director of the Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service, a distress call was received at approximately 3:30 p.m.

The injured men were rescued from the debris and received initial treatment at the scene before being taken to the hospital by personnel of the Lagos State Ambulance Service.

Responding agencies included the Isolo Fire Station of the Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service, the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA), the Lagos State Neighbourhood Safety Corps, the Lagos State Ambulance Service, and the Nigeria Police.

Search and rescue efforts remain ongoing as emergency officials continue to examine the site for any further risks.

The cause of the collapse has not yet been established, with investigations currently underway.

This latest incident in Mushin comes less than a month after a three-storey building collapsed on Oremeta Street in the Ojodu-Berger area of Lagos, resulting in one fatality.

Thirteen individuals were rescued from the rubble in that incident, which occurred on April 19.

Eyewitnesses at the time said the building, which housed a local restaurant, had been under construction. A resident, speaking anonymously, claimed the structure gave way shortly after staff arrived to begin work for the day.
