Three people have died after a Golden Arrow bus crashed on Jakes Gerwel Drive in the Athlone area of Cape Town on Monday, leaving at least 21 people severely injured.
The cause of the accident is yet to be established. Western Cape Mobility MEC Ricardo Mackenzie has extended his commiserations to the families of the victims.
Several roads are closed due to heavy rainfall and excessive flooding across large parts of the Western Cape. The province is currently experiencing an intense cold front, bringing with it gale force winds.
“I also wish a speedy recovery to the people who are injured.
