Authorities in Mexico reported that the bodies of 2 Australians and 1 American were found on Friday. The victims were shot in the head and their bodies dumped in a well.
The trio were a group of tourists reported missing on April 27 in Ensenada while on a surfing trip.
According to reports, the attackers shot the tourists after they refused to surrender their vehicle.
The incident occurred in Baja California which is one of Mexico’s violent states. The bodies were recovered in a well in Santo Tomás about 4 miles from the site of the attack in Ensenada.
The victims were identified by relatives who travelled to Mexico as Australian brothers Jake and Callum Robinson, and their American friend Jack Carter Rhoad.
The Mexican authorities also found abandoned tents, a phone linked to the missing surfers and a burnt pickup truck in the area.
Two men and a woman have been arrested in connection with the crime. The three suspects were detained pending further investigations from local authorities on the crime.
