The Minnesota Timberwolves advanced to the Western Conference Finals after upsetting defending NBA champions, the Denver Nuggets by beating them 98-90 in the deciding game of their Western Conference semi-final series.
The Timberwolves were down by 20 points at one point in the third quarter but mounted a superb comeback to win game seven and take the series 4-3
The stars of the show were Karl-Anthony Towns and Jaden McDaniels, who each scored 23 points for Minnesota, to propel them into the Western Conference Finals for the first time in two decades, where they will play the Dallas Mavericks.
It was Minnesota’s third victory at Denver, and they made it all the more remarkable by becoming the first team to come back from a half-time deficit of over eleven points to win a decider.
In the Eastern Conference, the Indiana Pacers defeated the New York Knicks 130-109 in the decider, and will play the Boston Celtics in the final.
