Nigeria’s former Vice President and Presidential candidate of the PDP in the 2019 general elections, Atiku Abubakar who has been a consistent opposition to the policies and approach of the Buhari led Government laments over the high rate of unemployment as reported by Bloomberg.
Disclosing this in a series of tweets, Atiku pointed out that if Nigeria can get the 13.5 million out of school Nigerian children into school, it will turn the corner in one generation. If this is not done, then the floodgates of unemployment will be further opened next year, and in the years to come.
He reiterates that Nigeria is at a precipice as a nation and the truth is that all stakeholders and elder statesmen have to speak up and while there is still a Nigeria to save because in his opinion, the government obviously lacks the capacity to address current challenges, and they must be helped not because they are the government, but because of the people.
