After being declared the winner of Saturday’s election, Bola Tinubu addressed his ecstatic fans and made a call for unity.
The former Lagos governor declared his intention to work to improve Nigeria. Two million more votes were cast for Tinubu, a member of the All Progressives Congress, than for his closest rival.
Nonetheless, opposition parties have demanded that the election be called off, claiming that the results were rigged.
The lengthy vote counting process has raised a lot of concern. The claims were rejected by the electoral commission.
Muhammadu Buhari, who is stepping down at the age of 80 after serving two terms, will be replaced by Tinubu.
