President Bola Tinubu and his wife, Oluremi, will leave Abuja on Wednesday to begin a three-day official visit to France following an invitation from President Emmanuel Macron.
The agenda for the visit will concentrate on enhancing political, economic, and cultural ties, as well as creating more partnership opportunities, especially in sectors such as agriculture, security, education, health, youth involvement and job creation, innovation, and energy transition, according to Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser to the President on Information & Strategy.
On Thursday, President Tinubu and his wife will be welcomed at the historic 350-year-old military museum, Les Invalides, and the Palais de l’Élysée, where they will meet with Macron and his wife, Brigitte, for the initial ceremonies leading to bilateral discussions.
“During the visit, President Tinubu and President Macron will align their views on promoting greater participation in exchange programmes aimed at enhancing youth skills and competencies in areas like automation, entrepreneurship, innovation, and leadership.
“Both leaders will attend political and diplomatic discussions emphasising common interests in finance, solid mineral resources, trade and investment, and communication.
“They will also observe a session held by the France-Nigeria Business Council, which oversees private sector involvement in economic growth.” Onanuga said
The statement also added that “Brigitte and Nigeria’s First Lady will engage in conversations regarding the former’s commitment to uplifting women, children, and underprivileged groups through the Renewed Hope Initiative.”
