Tinubu Joins Eid Prayers in Lagos, Preaches Love and Patriotism

Nigeria’s President Bola Tinubu has encouraged Nigerians to embrace generosity, compassion, and selflessness, particularly towards the less privileged during Eid-el-Kabir.

President Tinubu spoke to the press on Sunday in Lagos after attending Eid prayers. He said citizenship involves responsibilities, like showing love for one’s country and neighbours, and distributing resources.

According to a statement from his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Ajuri Ngelale, Tinubu acknowledged that advancing the nation necessitates personal dedication.

“We have been told by the Chief Imam how we can follow the path of sacrifice. The sacrifice required of a good citizen.

“Citizenship comes with responsibilities. As citizens, what do we need to do to be committed members of our society?

“Yes, that is sacrifice; loving your country. Loving your neighbours. Sharing what you have with each other. And to always be thankful to Almighty God,” the President explained.

Sheikh Suleiman Oluwatoyin Abou-Nolla, the Chief Imam of Lagos State leading the prayers, stressed the need for more love, sacrifice, and care for the less privileged.

He urged citizens to honour past leaders who dedicated themselves to Nigeria’s development and called for continued efforts to build and strengthen the nation.
