Nigeria’s First Lady, Sen. Oluremi Tinubu, FCT lawmaker, Senator Ireti Kingibe and other influential women have been shortlisted and celebrated as “Powerful Women Behind The State” in a new initiative by RED Media Africa and Ubuntu Tribe.
RED Media Africa, through its subsidiary — StateCraft Inc, a political communications and government relations firm, has launched the “Women Behind The State (WBTS)” list to honour impactful female leaders in Nigeria and their contributions to the nation’s progress.
The initiative is in collaboration with Ubuntu Tribe, a fintech company focused on tokenized real-world assets like gold that promotes sustainability, diversity and equal opportunities.
The WBTS list recognises the achievements of women across governance, social policy, business and activism in Nigeria. It aims to highlight their dedication to shaping a prosperous future for the country.
Other notable names on the list asides Sen. Tinubu include Head of the Federation’s Civil Service, Folashade Yemi-Esan, business leaders like Funke Akindele and Owen Diana Omogiafo and activists such as Ndidi Nwuneli, Kehinde Ayeni and Aisha Yesufu.

Similarly, Chinyere Akataobi, Business Lead at StateCraft Inc. noted the WBTS list serves as an inspiration for women and girls nationwide, showcasing their limitless possibilities and the important role they play in shaping Nigeria.
Ubuntu Tribe’s founder, Mamadou Kwidjim Toure, stated they envision a future where Africa’s prosperity is driven by female leadership, with financial inclusion as their mission and empowering women as key to unlocking economic growth.
