President Bola Tinubu has congratulated D’Tigress’ coach, Rena Wakama, on her recognition as the best coach of women’s basketball at the Paris 2024 Olympics.

The Nigeria women’s basketball team, D’Tigress, delivered a remarkable performance at the Olympics, marking the first time an African basketball team has reached the quarter-finals at the Olympic Games.

President Tinubu emphasised that the acknowledgement of Ms Wakama, 32, by the International Basketball Federation (FIBA) further underscores her established leadership attributes and commitment to achieving excellence.

He expressed gratitude to the Nigerian contingent and extended well wishes for their pursuits.
