Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the National Leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), claimed Tuesday that only God could take his life because He is the only one who provides life.
Tinubu stated this yesterday at a welcome-back celebration and prayer held by the Lagos State government at the State House, Marina, Lagos, during his reunion with his political allies and protégés. He expressed his gratitude to all of the political leaders and organisations who were present at the welcome back event. He also praised God for saving his life and guiding him through the surgical procedure.
While he was away, the APC National Leader stated the prayer occasion was emotional for him, and that he was overwhelmed by good wishes from Nigerians.
He prayed that God would bless all those involved in organizing the welcome back event and that God would grant them their heart’s wishes.
On behalf of Lagosians, Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, praised God for the smooth return of the former governor to Lagos.
“The citizenry is glad that our leader and father is returning comfortably and soundly,” Sanwo-Olu said, thanking those who prayed and desired for him to return home safe as he left for London.
Obafemi Hamzat, the Deputy Governor of Lagos State, and Femi Gbajabiamila, the Speaker of the House of Representatives, both declared they were willing to work harder and were already doing so to ensure Tinubu’s mandate in 2023.
The APC National Leader’s successful recovery from knee surgery, according to Hamzat, was a sign of God’s strength and favor.
Tinubu is praised by Gbajabiamila, who spoke on behalf of National Assembly members, as “an eagle” who is focused and always one step ahead of the game.
The Speaker questioned why a “minor knee surgery” had become a national issue, but the outpouring of support for Tinubu across ethnic lines revealed that the APC’s national leader is a puzzle.
He claimed that many political figures and organisations visiting Tinubu in London, regardless of party affiliation, said a lot about him and what the former Lagos governor stands for.
Mudashiru Obasa, the Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, described Tinubu as a teacher and benefactor, stating that his return has put false rumours about him to rest.
Also speaking on behalf of the council chairmen, the Chairman of Conference 57 said members of the conference were ready to support Tinubu in his next political move.
Olamilekan Adeola, a senator representing Lagos West, and Tajudeen Olusi, the chairman of the GAC, were among those who spoke well of the APC national leader.
Muslim and Christian clergy delivered prayers for Tinubu, while party leaders at the occasion took turns welcoming him back to the fold.
