    Tinubu to Address the Nation on June 12, Cancels Democracy Day Parade

    President Bola Tinubu will deliver a nationwide broadcast to Nigerians at 7 a.m. on June 12, as part of events lined up to commemorate Democracy Day.

    This was announced in a statement released on Wednesday by Abdulhakeem Adeoye of the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (OSGF), on behalf of the Director of Information and Public Relations.

    The statement confirmed that, “There would be no Democracy Day Parade to commemorate the occasion.”

    In addition to the broadcast, the President is also scheduled to attend a Joint Session of the National Assembly at 12 noon.

    Later in the day, a Public Lecture themed “Consolidating on the Gains of Nigeria’s Democracy: Necessity of Enduring Reforms” will be held at 4 p.m. at the State House Conference Centre, Abuja.
