Tinubu, Xi Jinping Discuss Economic and Security Cooperation in China

Nigerian President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Chinese President Xi Jinping are currently spearheading high-level bilateral economic discussions in Beijing, China. The meeting includes key officials from the Chinese government’s economic team, alongside members of the Nigerian delegation, which is led by Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq of Kwara State, Chairman of the Nigeria Governors’ Forum, and Governor Uba Sani of Kaduna State.

Accompanying them are members of President Tinubu’s economic team and other cabinet members, noting the significance of the meeting for both nations.

Last week, Presidential Spokesperson Ajuri Ngelale briefed journalists at the State House in Abuja, highlighting the purpose of the visit. He stated that President Tinubu’s engagement with President Xi Jinping would focus on strengthening bilateral ties and formalising multiple Memorandums of Understanding (MOUs).

He also noted that the discussions would extend beyond economic matters to address national, regional, and international security concerns.
