Nigeria’s Tobi Amusan continued from where she stopped at the African Athletics Championship when she raced to a new African record at the Paris Diamond League.
Amusan had last week won the gold medal at the African championships in Mauritius and also helped power the Nigerian 4x100m relay team to the gold medal.
In the French capital, Amusan broke her African record and raced to a new record of 12.41s(-0.4).
Her time is the third-fastest in the world in 2022 as she prepares for the World Athletics Championship next month in Eugene, Oregon, United States.
The former UTEP athlete is one of the fastest hurdle sprinters in the world and inarguably the fastest in Africa.
