World record holder in the women’s 100m hurdles, Tobi Amusan, has provided exciting details about her upcoming documentary titled ‘Homecoming,’ which aims to chronicle her athletic journey.
Announcing the project on Tuesday through content studio ATHLST, Amusan expressed her passion for the film.
“Over the past couple of years, I’ve been pouring my heart into a project that shares my journey—the highs, struggles, and everything in between. This is your opportunity to be part of something special,” she wrote on X.
A 2:15 trailer for the documentary highlights key moments from Amusan’s career, including her record-setting race in Oregon in 2022, her challenging times, particularly in 2023 when she faced a provisional suspension from the Athletics Integrity Unit, and her eventual exoneration by the Court of Arbitration for Sport.
TobiAmusan is renowned for her remarkable achievement of setting the world record in the women’s 100m hurdles with a time of 12.12 seconds, accomplished during the semi-finals at the 2022 World Championships in Eugene, Oregon. While she recorded an even faster time of 12.06 seconds in the final, it did not count due to excessive tailwind conditions.
In addition to her world record, Tobi Amusan is the reigning Commonwealth and African champion in the 100m hurdles and holds the meet records for both competitions. She also boasts three Diamond League titles, having secured victories in 2021, 2022, and 2023.
