Hollywood star Tom Cruise has been awarded a Guinness World Record for a breathtaking stunt performed for the upcoming “Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning,” the eighth film in the iconic franchise.
Cruise now holds the title for the “most burning parachute jumps by an individual,” completing a remarkable 16 jumps for the movie.
“Tom doesn’t just play action heroes – he is an action hero!” stated Craig Glenday, Editor-in-Chief of Guinness World Records, on Thursday.

Glenday praised Cruise’s “absolute focus on authenticity and pushing the boundaries of what a leading man can do,” adding it was “an honour to be able to recognise his utter fearlessness.”
A video released by Paramount Pictures shows Cruise discussing the perilous stunt’s logistics with coordinators.
He candidly noted the risk, saying, “I am going to be deploying. If this is twisted while it’s burning, I am going to be spinning and burnt.” With a smirk, he later asserted his desire to be “real smart; I’m not saying be risky” before adding, “We don’t take risks… obviously.”
The clip then shows Cruise executing all 16 fiery skydives consecutively to the “Mission: Impossible” theme.
This latest achievement is consistent with Cruise’s reputation for performing his daring stunts, including his notable performance around the Olympic Games last summer.
