For individuals who practice “dry January,” think about allowing English actor Tom Holland to inspire you to persevere.
In an interview with Men’s Health published Thursday, the “Spider-Man” star revealed that he has been clean for more than two years and talked about the people who have helped him along the road.
But Holland made the first decision to give up alcohol on his initiative, without the help of medical professionals.
“I’ve got strong will. He told the outlet, “I’m going to do what I decide to do.” “I relied heavily on close friends, family, former coworkers, new coworkers, and strangers who reached out to me and were also sober.”
That insight, Holland said, was that “you’ll never wake up the morning after a night out and wish you had a drink. That piece of advice rang true to me because my problem was that I would have one drink and be fine, and then I would just go too far.”
Holland, who recently launched his line of non-alcoholic beer called Bero, also recalled some of the work-related challenges he was met with.
During a time of weakness early on in his trip, Holland’s lawyer—whom he did not name—also played a crucial role, giving him what he called “a poignant piece of advice that helped me get through everything.”
“You will never wake up the morning after a night out and wish you had a drink,” Holland stated, referring to that realisation. That advice truly resonated with me because I had a problem where I would have one drink and be fine, but then I would push myself too far.
Holland also recalled some of the difficulties he had at work. Holland just introduced his line of non-alcoholic beer, Bero.
Particularly, he recalled his time spent on the set of his 2022 television series “A Crowded Room,” which he co-created with Amanda Seyfried and Emmy Rossum.
“There was a good deal of hostility on that set. “There was a lot of arguing and head-butting, and it was not a very harmonious place,” he recalled, adding that the tension wasn’t caused by creative disagreements but without providing specifics.
He continued by saying, “With everything going on, it’s going to get worse if I start drinking again.”
Following the series’ filming, Holland also took a year off from acting. He has returned to action and was just revealed to be a member of the cast of Christopher Nolan’s next epic, “The Odyssey.”
