Top 10 African Nations with Lowest Diesel Costs in October 2024

Affordable energy, particularly diesel, is crucial for the economy of numerous African nations. Reduced diesel prices lead to decreased operational costs for key sectors such as manufacturing, transportation, and agriculture, driving growth in many countries.

Diesel remains a primary energy source in several African nations, especially those struggling to establish robust energy infrastructure for cleaner options.

Consequently, access to cheaper diesel fuel generally provides stability and financial relief for both residents and businesses in any given economy on the continent where purchasing power may not be as high as desired.

Currently, the global average diesel price is 1.19 U.S. dollars per litre, which is slightly lower than the previous month’s average of 1.21 U.S. dollars per litre. In comparison to last month, diesel prices in Algeria, Egypt, Tunisia, Ghana, and Gabon have slightly decreased.

However, diesel prices have increased in Angola, Ethiopia, and Nigeria, while prices in Libya and Sudan have remained unchanged.

Here are the 10 African countries listed by GlobalPetrolPrices.com with the lowest diesel prices for October.
