Annually, several music stars plan towards thrilling their fans all across the globe; whether it’s through show promoters and festivals or personal tours and concerts. As afrobeats enjoyed massive acceptance across the globe, several African stars found time to connect with their fans on stage.

These live shows weren’t without their mishaps and unforgettable moments. Here is our top 5 most unforgettable African music show moments of 2022

It’s only fair that we start with the most recent show mishaps. No 5 takes us to the recently held Afrochella music festival stage where ‘19 & Dangerous’ songstress Ayra Star fell on stage while trying to hype up the crowd.

The now 20 year old star got off the floor and dusted herself quickly, giggling about the rather embarrassing moment. She tweeted much later “I just hope my crush never sees that video of me falling” To be fair ton of Nigerian stars have fallen on stage, whether it was Pop star Young Jon and street star Lil KESH together, Media personality Denrele or even our African Giant BURNA boy, once at Headies 2013 and even this year in London. Ayra star cleared the air calling out Afrochella to clean the stage after each performance, calling her fall very unnecessary and painful.

At Number 4 let’s head to East Africa where multi-award-winning Tanzanian musician Diamond Platnumz got steamy on stage with his signee ZUCHU. The Wasafi boss has never addressed the many relationship rumours and question that have followed the two. The performance in Dar es Salaam left revellers screening and others had raised eyebrows at the sexually charged nature. They have both continued to deny the claims of a romantic relationship even after more hits songs together and public appearances.

Rave of the moment ASAKE is at our Number 3 spot; Mr money with the vibes as fondly called had a wardrobe malfunction on stage in the Uk. The international star attempted a dance that ripped his trousers in the private area while performing in London. The ‘Loaded’ singer noticed the situation and skillfully danced off the stage. Of course, the Sungba hitmaker got back on stage and delivered after a change of clothing.

Some music performance and show mishaps can leave you in shock, and that’s the case at Number 2 spot. Youngstar Ruger couldn’t keep his disappointment inward after a female fan grabbed his private area when he moved to the edge of the stage during his performance. Several fans and social media users were outraged by the act of abuse against the star who eventually walked off the stage following the incident. The ‘Asiwaju’ singer had not long before that show gone freaky on stage in Paris with a female fan. Fans, don’t forget consent is key

Finally, our Number 1 most unforgettable music show moments and mishaps takes us to PSquare show in Dallas where Mr.P kissed a female fan during a live performance. As part of their reunion concert, the two brothers took to stage to thrill their faithful fans to some old songs. While performing ‘beautiful Onyinye’ Peter would go on to kiss an excited female fan causing the crowd to roar in Excitement. Following the success of the show, He would later address social media critics saying he is free to do whatever pleases him on stage including throwing his clothes, shoes into the crowd, as well as kissing.

It’s truly been an unforgettable year in the entertainment scene and we have afrobeats to thank for playing a good part in taking Africa to the world or at least making these moments unforgettable to fans across the globe.
