Tottenham Hotspur have reportedly set their sights on Brentford manager Thomas Frank as the top candidate to replace Ange Postecoglou, who was sacked on Friday.
Postecoglou’s dismissal came despite leading Spurs to a Europa League victory last month, ending the club’s 17-year trophy drought.
Frank, who took charge of the Bees in 2018, famously guided Brentford back to the top flight in 2021 after a 74-year absence, successfully establishing them as a Premier League fixture.
Securing the Dane, whose current contract runs until 2027, would likely cost Spurs approximately £10 million ($14 million) in compensation. According to the BBC, a formal approach from Tottenham is anticipated in the coming days.
Spurs are set to compete in the Champions League next season, a direct result of their Europa League success in Bilbao, where they defeated Manchester United 1-0.

However, Postecoglou’s exit was attributed to a disappointing Premier League campaign, with Tottenham finishing 17th after losing 22 of their 38 matches.
Frank’s coaching career began in the Danish national youth setup, followed by a three-year stint at Brøndby. He initially joined Brentford as an assistant coach before taking the top job when Dean Smith departed for Aston Villa.
After a playoff final loss in 2020, Brentford secured promotion via the playoffs a year later. Since then, Frank has consistently maintained the Bees’ competitiveness in the Premier League, achieving finishes of 13th, ninth, 16th, and 10th, despite regularly selling his top players.
Bryan Mbeumo is expected to be the latest high-profile departure from Brentford, with Manchester United reportedly interested in the Cameroon international who scored 20 Premier League goals last season.
However, reports suggest Frank would be keen to bring Mbeumo with him to North London if his move to Tottenham materialises.
