Touch down: the ICC Cricket World Cup in Cape Town for SA tour

The International Cricket Council ICC’s World Cup trophy has arrived in Cape Town as it begins its journey around South Africa from January 29 through to February 7.

Cape Town is the latest city to welcome the trophy which is expected to go around 20 countries and 40 cities.

The trophy will make stops at iconic locations, communities, cricket development hubs, landmarks and shopping malls to afford fans access to it.

ICC World Cup Trophy Tour Dates – South Africa:

Cape Town:

January 29 – Trophy Tour media launch Newlands Cricket Stadium

January 30 – Trophy will be at the 5th ODI between Proteas and Pakistan at Newlands Cricket Stadium

January 31 – Trophy will visit iconic sites around Cape Town.

Pretoria:

February 1 – Regional Performance Centre visit in Mamelodi, Pretoria.

Johannesburg:

February 2 – Nelson Mandela Square

February 3 – Trophy will be at the T20 International between Proteas and Pakistan at Wanderers Stadium

February 5 – Trophy to visit Soweto

February 6 – Trophy will be at the T20 International between Proteas and Pakistan at Supersport Park, Centurion.

Durban:

February 7 – Trophy will visit iconic sites around Durban
