A man identified as Aondona Andrew Adure was crushed to death while crossing the road outside Eagle Square on Saturday in Abuja.
The deceased was an indigene of Ukum Local Government Area of Benue State working at the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
The tragic incident was confirmed by his younger brother, Mathias Adure, who disclosed that the departed Adure, 50, was ran over by a woman who quickly turned herself in at the nearest police station.
He added that the deceased was survived by a wife and no child.
“It’s a black day for me. As I speak, my mother is in the mortuary in Benue. Now, by elder brother has joined her. It’s actually a trying time for me. What is more painful is that he died without having a child.
“One of his colleagues in the same company who also left office saw a crowd around the Eagle Square and decided to take a walk, on reaching there, it was my brother that he saw,” Daily Trust captured him saying.
The leadership of Ukum Family Association in Abuja also confirmed the development in a statement signed by Gabriel Akiirga I.
A segment of the statement read:
“It’s our prayer that God Almighty will grant the deceased eternal rest and give his family the fortitude to bear the loss.”
Aondona Adure’s remains were deposited at the Asokoro General Hospital in Abuja.
