On Tuesday, US President Donald Trump said that he will increase inbound steel and aluminium taxes on Canadian imports from 25% to 50%.
He hinted that the tariffs would go into effect “tomorrow morning.”

According to Trump, more tariffs would “permanently shut down the automobile manufacturing business in Canada.”
This warning followed the Ontario province of Canada imposing an electricity fee on three US states.
He also brought back fears that the nation would become “our cherished Fifty First State.”
