US President Donald Trump stated on Friday that Iran is interested in resuming negotiations regarding its nuclear programme.

This assertion comes a week after American airstrikes reportedly hit Iran’s primary uranium-enrichment facility and other sites.

Speaking to reporters at the White House, Trump declared, “So Iran wants to meet. As you know, their sites were obliterated, their very evil nuclear sites,” without providing further details.

His comments, however, contradict a statement made by Iran’s top diplomat on Wednesday, who asserted there was “no plan” for new negotiations.
