US President-elect Donald Trump made his first foreign trip since his re-election to Paris on Saturday, where he met with French President Emmanuel Macron.
The encounter occurred on the presidential palace’s iconic steps, where the two leaders warmly embraced and exchanged firm handshakes, signalling a renewed rapport.
Trump was welcomed with a grand display of a full guard of honour to mark a notable shift in their relationship, which had often been fraught with tension during Trump’s initial term in office.
