On Friday, US President Donald Trump informed President Volodymyr Zelensky that Ukraine would need to make “compromises” to secure a truce with Moscow.
However, Zelensky maintained that no compromises should be made with Russia’s “killer” leader.
“Without making concessions, no deal can be made. He will undoubtedly need to make some concessions, but ideally they won’t be as significant as some believe,” Trump stated during a White House meeting.
Zelensky, however, showed Trump images of war crimes and referred to Vladimir Putin when he stated that there should be “no compromises with a killer on our territory.”
He claimed that throughout their three-year invasion of his nation, “Crazy Russians” had perpetrated war crimes and deported Ukrainian children.

“I believe President Trump is on our side,” Zelensky stated, despite the conflict about who should compromise in the effort to stop the war.
According to him, he will discuss with the US president the “crucial” necessity of a purported US security “backstop” for any peacekeeping missions sent by Europe to oversee a future truce.
“This is crucial; this is what we want to speak about; this is very important,” he said.
Trump’s sudden reversal of US policy, which ended his fervent backing for Ukraine’s efforts to fight the Russian invasion and positioned him as a mediator between Putin and Zelensky, has terrified Kyiv and European allies.
Trump told Zelensky that a truce is “fairly close.”
He said that an agreement he was about to sign with Zelensky that would permit the United States to utilise Ukraine’s natural riches would be “very fair.”
As a component of a larger strategy to aid Ukraine’s post-conflict recovery, the resource agreement aims to provide the US with access to rare earth and other critical minerals.
Zelensky suggested to Trump that he should visit his embattled country. “You have to come and look.”
