Donald Trump, the US president-elect, reiterated his extreme campaign promises, such as abolishing birthright citizenship, in an interview that aired Sunday, saying he would “have to” deport all undocumented immigrants in the US.
He said, “You have to do it,” when asked if he intended to deport “everyone who is here illegally over the next four years” of his tenure in an interview with NBC’s “Meet the Press.”
In his first official TV interview following the November election, he asserted that he would terminate birthright citizenship, which is guaranteed by the US Constitution, “if we can, through executive action,” calling it “ridiculous.”
Trump further declared that if partners failed to “pay their bills,” he would “absolutely” contemplate withdrawing from NATO.
Trump told reporters, “They have to pay their bills,” and he would “absolutely” contemplate withdrawing the US from the alliance unless its members were “treating us fairly.”
