Donald Trump shared a video on his Truth Social platform on Wednesday, featuring Columbia University Professor Jeffrey Sachs criticising Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s obsessive efforts to involve the US in a war with Iran.
In the video, Sachs claims Netanyahu’s long-standing strategy since 1995 has been to dismantle regimes supporting groups like Hamas and Hezbollah by toppling governments in Iraq, Syria, and Iran.
“Where did that war come from? You know what? It’s quite surprising. That war came from Netanyahu, actually,” Sachs said in the video, which delves into the pretext for the Iraq invasion.
Sachs argued that Netanyahu’s actions were a significant driver behind the 2003 Iraq invasion, calling it a “phony” war. He went on to accuse Netanyahu of continuing to push the US into conflicts with Iran, calling him a “deep, dark son of a bitch” and stating that his influence has led to “endless wars.”
