The newly appointed Commissioner of Police (CP) for the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Olatunji Disu, made it clear on Monday, that his tenure will have zero tolerance for any crime and criminal activities in the nation’s capital.
Addressing the command officers and men in Abuja on his assumption as the CP, Disu noted the security challenges in the FCT but assured them that he would remain dedicated to enhancing the security measures implemented by his predecessors.
Disu also pledged to prioritise community policing, intelligence gathering, technology integration, training and development, and public engagement in order to achieve the desired outcomes.
“It is a great honour and privilege to address you today as the new Commissioner of Police for the Federal Capital Territory. I express my sincere appreciation to the Inspector General of Police for entrusting me with this crucial responsibility.
“As I take on this role, I fully understand the security challenges in the FCT and the groundwork laid by my predecessors to maintain peace. I am committed to building on this foundation and improving our efforts to enhance the security situation in our territory significantly.” Disu stressed.
