Egypt’s Chief of Staff, General Ahmed Khalifa, met with his Turkish counterpart, General Metin Gürak, in Cairo yesterday to discuss strengthening military cooperation, according to Anadolu Agency.
The meeting, held at Egypt’s Ministry of Defence, marked an unannounced visit by Gürak to Egypt. Talks focused on areas of mutual interest, including enhanced military collaboration and the exchange of expertise between the two nations’ armed forces.
Khalifa emphasised the importance of forging stronger partnerships and coordinating efforts to support common interests, highlighting the value of increased military cooperation and knowledge-sharing between Egypt and Turkey.
This meeting reflects a step towards improving ties between the two countries after years of strained relations.
